Hootie and the Blowfish

I suspect that the mention of the lead singer's name is unlikely to have helped many people, and the same could probably be said for the titles of the three "hit singles" . Only Wanna Be With You (1995) only reached No. 87 in the UK, and is not listed in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles. Only Hold My Hand (1995 – their first single) spent more than one week on the UK chart, peaking at No. 50; Let Her Cry (also 1995) spent one week at No. 75. They did have two later (minor) hits: Old Man and Me (When I Get to Heaven) (1996) and I Will Wait (1998). Each of these spent one week at No. 57.

It's probably fair to say that Hootie & the Blowfish are (or were) an albums band. They had three Top 20 albums in the UK, finding most success with the second – Fairweather Johnson (1996). This spent 16 weeks on the UK chart, peaking at No. 9.

Both of their first two albums (Cracked Rear View and Fairweather Johnson) reached No. 1 in the USA.
